Fort McMurray Relief Efforts - Sponsor a Food Bucket

Wednesday May 4, 2016 - 10 AM

Our hearts go out to those affected by the fires in northern Alberta.
The devastation has been unreal and came so swiftly upon so many.
I stayed up most of the night last night reading twitter updates on the evacuations.

I wanted to jump in my vehicle, load up and head out to help.
Though I know its best to let authorities organize and manage and not jump in and become part of the problem.

Now, this morning we have been contacted by various camps in the region to help provide food supplies for families in those areas.
After much pondering, and knowing in my heart how badly I personally want to help and not knowing how,
we have decided to open up our supply process for these camps, and let you help out too if you feel so inclined.

Please know that this is not a for profit deal. We are not making money on this,
any extra that our contacts cannot place directly into relief efforts we will be donating to Red Cross.
Also, know that this is a sponsorship purchase - not a donation - Briden is not a registered charitable organization.
You will receive a receipt like a normal online order, no tax deductable donation slip.

Briden will be supplying various 30 day food buckets as well as other food items.
If you would like to sponsor one or more food buckets, you can place an order by clicking on the items below.
The cost to sponsor a bucket is 50% of what they normally sell for.

Briden will cover the rest of the cost as well as any logistics costs to get the food where it needs to be.
If you want, we can even write your initials and a small note on the lid of the bucket for the recipient.
(Just email us your note, and we'll attach it to the bucket.)

If your budget is tight, but you still want to help, call in,
we can combine multiple donations and still get a food bucket out there.

By all means if you would rather help in another way, please do what you feel best for your situation.
I know the Red Cross is accepting cash donations online here: http://www.redcross.ca/

There is power in community - thank you for being part of our community.
